According to Raditya Endra Budiman, President Director of Perumda Dharma Jaya, the demand for meat in Jakarta is 6,000 tons per month. The increase in demand for meat at Christmas would hit 15 percent. Currently, the available stocks of frozen chicken and beef are 400 tons each.
"We appreciate the National Food Agency for coordinating everything and making sure the meat arrives on time. And now they arrive already. So, Jakarta people, don't have to worry because there's a lot of meat stock in the warehouse," he expressed after accompanying National Food Agency Head, Arief Prasetyo Adi when he surveyed meat stocks at Perumda Dharma Jaya, Friday (12/16).

The availability of meat in his ranks is also supported by BUMN, BUMD, and local breeders in the supplying areas.
"The price so far is flat. This is a real form of cooperation between BUMN and its partners. We hope that support will continue to be given to Perumda Dharma Jaya and Jakartans," he explained.
National Food Agency Head, Arief Prasetyo Adi revealed that the ministries, institutions, and BUMNs related to food affairs were getting more solid in maintaining price stability and food availability, especially meat.
"We make sure there are enough meat stocks during Christmas. Meat prices are also stable. So, there is no need for excessive spending, as the Jakarta administration has also prepared the meat in collaboration with BUMN," he exclaimed.
He added that Perumda Dharma Jaya has warehouses for storing certified frozen meat, which is one of the factors supporting the availability and stability of meat prices in Jakarta.
"We have cold storage. We distribute frozen products and Indonesians are also getting used to frozen products because they are more hygienic, and do not allow bacteria to grow," he stated.
